Favourite Videos of the Past - Part 1

After numerous requests from our readers to make some of our most popular videos available again, we decided to group them in a few parts over the next few months. Of course, watching these videos again bring back many fond memories and spark old stories.

Our first choice has to be the Saturday show at EAA Airventure 2014 in Oshkosh. This show included the world famous "Thunder Birds", awesome aerobatic flying after sunset, spectacular fireworks and the exhilarating "Great Wall of Fire".

Another video that spurred a lot of response was the 2014 RV Revolution event in Parys. As the name imply, this event was exclusively for RV aircraft participating and competing in the "Parys Pylon Time Trials", a concept developed by one of South Africa's most respected aviators, Scully Levin.

With the "African Aerospace and Defence" expo scheduled only every second year, the event is always a highlight on the South African events calendar. Even with the global economic downturn and a lack in international participation, AAD 2014 did not fail to impress with world-class local performers and of course the participation of the South African Air Force.

Being fortunate enough to be invited to the capability demonstration of the South African Air Force is certainly a highlight in every aviation journalist's career. Seeing jets, attack helicopters, transport aircraft and soldiers in action in a simulated attack is exhilarating to say the least.
